In a heartwarming gesture of support, NCBA Bank Rwanda marked International Women’s Day by offering a significant donation of health insurance covers to vulnerable women and their families in Rwanda. The bank’s contribution specifically targeted teen and single mothers, including those with disabilities, benefiting a total of 300 individuals. This generous act was facilitated through a partnership with the Certa Foundation’s Centre for Justice and Advocacy, an organization dedicated to assisting women and girls who have experienced Sexual Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
Florida Kabasinga, the Executive Director of Certa Foundation, welcomed the donation with open arms, highlighting its profound impact on the lives of women in the Cyuve and Muhoza sectors of the Musanze District. She pointed out that the support from NCBA Bank would significantly enhance healthcare access for these women, their children, and extended family members, thereby improving their overall well-being.
Lina Higiro, the CEO of NCBA Bank Rwanda, underscored the bank’s dedication to empowering women and fostering social inclusion. She stated, “Ensuring good health for girls and women is essential to breaking down barriers and is a cornerstone of our commitment to empowerment and inclusion.”
