The American horror film ‘A Quiet Place: Day One,’ featuring award-winning Rwandan actress Eliane Umuhire and Kenya’s prominent actress Lupita Nyong’o, will premiere at Canal Olympia, Rebero, Kigali on Friday, June 28.
Directed by Michael Sarnoski, the apocalyptic horror film is the third installment in the ‘A Quiet Place’ series and serves as a spin-off prequel to the original film. With a running time of 99 minutes, the film tells the gripping story of a woman and other survivors trying to find safety during an alien invasion in New York City, where they must remain silent to avoid detection by the sound-sensitive creatures.
Eliane Umuhire, celebrated for her raw talent and international acclaim, has co-produced the documentary ‘Face of Resilience,’ which explores Rwanda’s journey of resilience, reconciliation, and community-building over the past three decades. Umuhire began her acting career in 2005 and transitioned to film in 2014 with her role in ‘Birds are Singing in Kigali.’ She has since received numerous awards, including the Best Actress Award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and the Urania Award for Best Performance in a Leading Role.
Umuhire is also known for her role in ‘Trees Of Peace,’ a film that tells the story of four women who form a strong bond while hiding during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
