American singer-songwriter and chef Kelis, famous for her hit ‘Milkshake,’ is currently immersing herself in the scenic wonders of Rwanda. Documenting her journey for her 1.5 million Instagram followers, Kelis shares videos of her interactions with Inyambo cows, hiking hills, engaging with locals, and visiting mountain gorillas.
Kelis arrived in Rwanda on Wednesday, January 31, and expressed her awe after meeting the mountain gorillas, emphasizing the well-preserved parks, the dedication of rangers, guides, and trackers, and the careful measures taken to ensure the safety of the gorillas.
Reflecting on the unique experience, Kelis stated, “What an experience, these mountains and parks are preserved, they have amazing rangers and guides and trackers. We wear masks to prevent any sickness to the gorillas, there’s no trash, no touching, no petting. It’s just one mammal looking at another mammal. It was such a dope day and something I’ve wanted to do for ages.”
This visit to Rwanda is part of Kelis’ broader exploration of East Africa, following her travels to Kenya and Zanzibar.
