Asake Makes History at O2 Arena

Asake made history on September 22, 2024, by selling out the O2 Arena for the second time. Following the release of his third album, Lungu Boy, he embarked on a world tour that included performances at prominent venues, with the O2 Arena being a standout.

During his landmark concert, Asake captivated fans with hit singles, including tracks from Lungu Boy. Notable attendees included Grammy winner Wizkid and actor Idris Elba, who presented Asake with a sold-out plaque and a BRIT silver plaque for his previous album, Work of Art. With this latest achievement, Asake joins fellow Nigerian Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid in having sold out the O2 Arena multiple times.

Asake first sold out the iconic venue in 2023, following the release of his sophomore album, Work of Art, marking a significant milestone in his rise to global prominence.

The O2 Arena has played a key role in showcasing Afrobeats’ ascent on the world stage. Davido made history in 2018 as the first Nigerian solo act to headline the venue, followed by Wizkid in 2019. Wizkid returned for a historic three-night run in 2021.
