Bank of Kigali Announces Partnership with VCWC 2024 as Official Banking Partner

Bank of Kigali has solidified its role in the forthcoming Veterans Club World Championship (VCWC) by signing a three-year partnership deal on Friday, May 31. The collaboration aims to tap into the business opportunities surrounding the 2024 VCWC tournament, slated to unfold in Kigali from September 1 to 10.

The agreement, inked at the Bank of Kigali headquarters, signifies mutual satisfaction with the terms outlined and the associated benefits for both parties.

Dr. Diane Karusisi, CEO of Bank of Kigali, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, affirming the institution’s commitment to fostering business innovations in Rwanda. Beyond the fun aspect of football, we see many business opportunities which can be sought after. We want BK to be the channel through which investors can open and do business in Rwanda.”  Karusisi stated.

“We want to be the sole banking partner of the VCWC and the platform through which people can use to do business in Rwanda.” she added.

Fred Siewe, the visionary behind the VCWC tournament, emphasized the significance of Bank of Kigali’s involvement in the event. “For BK to be our banking partner is pivotal. When we discuss business, we require a bank with a proven track record, and they have demonstrated just that,” Siewe expressed.

Under the partnership, Bank of Kigali customers will enjoy a 10 percent discount on VCWC tickets, available through the official ticketing platform in June. Additionally, customers will have exclusive opportunities to engage with football legends and participate in business-to-business interactions.

The VCWC anticipates the attendance of approximately 150 football legends from across the globe, including luminaries such as Ronaldinho, Oliver Kahn, and Michael Owen, among others.

The collaboration between Bank of Kigali and VCWC not only underscores support for sports and community engagement but also signifies a commitment to fostering economic growth and development opportunities.
