Three prominent Rwandan musicians—Chriss Eazy, Meddy, and Platini P—captivated audiences across Europe and North America on Saturday, December 14, with powerful performances that connected with the Rwandan diaspora.
Chriss Eazy made a memorable European debut with a sold-out concert at Blu Bruxelles nightclub in Belgium. The event, organized by Team Production, saw the Rwandan artist energizing the crowd with hit songs like “Bana” and his controversial latest track, “Sambolera,” which has recently sparked discussions over alleged copyright issues.
Accompanied by Belgium-based Rwandan DJs Princess Flor, Tity, and Atoto, Chriss Eazy’s performance showcased his growing musical appeal, as the crowd responded with enthusiasm and energy. The artist was joined on the trip by his manager, Junior Giti, and showbiz presenter Luckman Nzeyimana, who hosted the event.
Gospel singer Meddy launched his “Night of Worship and Testimonies” tour in Montreal, Canada, marking a milestone in his spiritual musical journey. Performing alongside US-based singers and cousins Adrien and Gentil Misigaro, Meddy’s set included his first gospel song, “Holy Spirit,” as well as the collaborative track “Niyo Ndirimbo,” which had the crowd singing along.
The tour will continue in Toronto on December 15 and will wrap up in Ottawa on December 21.
Platini P, known as Baba, kicked off his “Baba Experience” USA tour in Arizona, thrilling fans with popular tracks like “Veronica” and “Jeje,” the latter featuring Davis D. “Jeje” is currently trending among music fans worldwide.
Next up, Platini P will perform at Metro Grand Rapids in Michigan on December 28, offering fans a unique concert-and-brunch experience.
In the past, few Rwandan artists performed on international stages. However, recent years have seen a surge in Rwandan musicians headlining events across the globe. This growing visibility reflects not only the increasing popularity of Rwandan artists but also the country’s expanding cultural footprint on the world stage.
