Donald Trump Sworn in as 47th U.S. President

Donald Trump was sworn in Monday as the 47th president of the United States, following a turbulent political journey that included two impeachments, criminal indictments, and two assassination attempts.

Trump wasted little time after the ceremony, outlining plans to sign a series of executive orders aimed at implementing his campaign promises.

Addressing supporters, he pledged sweeping changes to the nation.

“The golden age of America begins right now,” Trump said. “From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world.”

Among the executive actions Trump has announced are plans to launch a mass deportation program, end birthright citizenship, increase domestic oil drilling, and impose higher tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China.

Due to unusually cold weather, Trump’s inauguration ceremony was moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda, marking the first time in four decades the event was held indoors.
