DStv has initiated a new campaign to offer specialized packages for business owners in Rwanda, building on the success of their residential pay-TV services. The announcement follows a price reduction in May 2023, which saw packages become more affordable, starting from Rwf5,000, under the “Ni Ya Bose” (DStv for All) initiative.
Augustin Muhirwa, Managing Director of Tele 10 and DStv Rwanda, highlighted the significant uptake of home packages during a regional media briefing on February 22, 2024. “The response from our residential customers has been outstanding across the country, bringing in many new clients,” Muhirwa stated, emphasizing the company’s achievement in meeting monthly targets and expanding its offerings under DStv for Business.
To enhance its business services, DStv for Business has joined forces with the Bar, Hotel, and Liquor Stores Association (BAHLITA), a partnership that extends beyond two years in Kenya and is now being brought to Rwanda. BAHLITA, established 22 years ago with roots in Kenya, has grown to operate across multiple African countries, including Rwanda.
This collaboration aims to raise awareness about DStv for Business, highlight the benefits, and promote anti-piracy measures among BAHLITA members. “This partnership is mutually beneficial, allowing us to extend our services through the BAHLITA database and offer value to its members,” officials stated.
DStv for Business has introduced three distinct packages designed to cater to the diverse needs of business owners in sectors such as hospitality, tourism, banking, and more. These include DStv STAY for accommodations like hotels and guesthouses, DStv PLAY for public viewing areas such as bars and restaurants, and DStv WORK for offices and workspaces. Each package offers different tiers—Ultra, Essential, and Basic—to provide businesses with options tailored to their unique customer experiences.
Musa Huko, Head of DStv for Business at MultiChoice Africa, emphasized the brand’s commitment to enriching lives through a technology platform that offers top local and international content for commercial customers. “Our goal is to raise awareness of these business packages and ensure that businesses across Rwanda can enhance their customer service through our offerings,” Huko said. The dedicated DStv for Business team in Rwanda plans to engage with potential clients across the country and rely on positive customer experiences to promote their services further.
