U.S.-based influencer and content creator Elsa Majimbo recently took to social media to share a distressing incident that ultimately led to the end of her year-long reationship with her boyfriend. The revelation unfolded during Majimbo’s participation in a panel discussion in Miami, Florida.
In a detailed post, Majimbo explained that her choice of a strapless dress for the event presented a challenge for the technical crew tasked with attaching a microphone. A suggestion was made to affix the microphone to her undergarments, to which Majimbo agreed. However, the situation took an uncomfortable turn when she was escorted to a dressing room, and instead of allowing her to handle the adjustment herself, the technician took it upon himself to lift her dress.
Recalling the incident, Majimbo expressed her discomfort, stating, “He shows me a room, he goes in, and with no warning, he lifts my dress because I thought he was going to leave me and go.”
Despite the unsettling encounter, Majimbo managed to contain her anger and proceeded to participate in the panel. However, her distress escalated after the event when she shared the incident with her boyfriend over the phone. To her surprise, his initial response was to question whether she had been flirting with the technician.
“After the panel is done, I am angry, storming to my room, and the first person I called was my boyfriend. I told him what had happened, and the first thing he asked was, ‘Do you think maybe he thought you were flirting with him?'” Majimbo recounted.
Infuriated by the insensitive question, Majimbo decided to sever ties with her boyfriend immediately. She conveyed her decision, stating, “Immediately he said that, I said to him, ‘What’s going to happen is I am going to hang up this phone, and you will never hear from me again. You will never see me again; you will never get a chance to smell me again. It will be like I never existed.”
True to her word, Majimbo has not had any contact with her ex-boyfriend since that day. The influencer had introduced her now-former boyfriend in December 2022, and their relationship had lasted for a year before coming to an abrupt end following this incident.
