Renowned Gakondo singer Ibrahim Cyusa, along with the music troupe Inganzo Ngari, is set to perform at the ‘Migabo Live Concert’ on June 8 at the Kigali Cultural and Exhibition Center. This unique concert not only marks Cyusa’s diverse journey as a traditional dancer, banker, and singer but also celebrates his deep roots in Rwandan culture.
The concert, named after Cyusa’s song ‘Migabo’—a tribute to Rwanda’s president for his exemplary leadership—promises to be a spectacular showcase of Rwandan music and dance. Cyusa, who was part of Inganzo Ngari from 2010 to 2015, expressed his excitement about reuniting with the troupe for this performance. “This concert will elevate Gakondo performance to a new level, with all performers being stars of this rich musical tradition,” he shared with The New Times.
Attendees can also anticipate a preview of songs from Cyusa’s forthcoming album, which is set to be released following the concert. Ticket prices range from Rwf 10,000 for regular seats to Rwf 250,000 for a table of eight, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to experience this cultural festivity.
Cyusa’s musical career spans over five years, with hits like ‘Imparamba,’ ‘Rwanda Nkunda,’ and ‘Migabo.’ His popularity soared with his ‘Friday Live’ sessions at Grand Legacy Hotel, leading to a solo career launched in 2019 and international performances, including a recent show in Newcastle.
The ‘Migabo Live Concert’ is a not-to-be-missed event for lovers of traditional Rwandan music and those who support Cyusa’s eclectic career.
