Kenya’s Geoffrey Yegon and Ethiopia’s Fantu Zewude Jifar claimed victory in the Gold Label Elite Marathon at the 2024 Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. Yegon won the men’s race with a time of 2:16:06, while Jifar triumphed in the women’s category with 2:39:04.
The marathon, part of a three-day event with over 55,000 participants, saw a nearly 33% increase in international runners from last year, with nearly 13,000 participants from 84 countries.
In the National Championship, Singapore’s Soh Rui Yong won the men’s marathon in 2:46:05, while Rachel See took the women’s title in 3:00:45. In the Half Marathon, Shaun Goh and Vanessa Lee emerged as national champions.
The race, which culminated at the historic Anderson Bridge, showcased both elite talent and the growing running community in Singapore.
