French football star Kylian Mbappé was seen training with Real Madrid on Tuesday, marking his return to the field after a break to recover from injury.
His training session comes amid reports from Swedish media alleging that he is under investigation for a suspected rape incident in Stockholm, where he was last week. Swedish broadcaster SVT reported that Mbappé is “reasonably suspected” of rape, citing documents it has obtained.
Swedish prosecutors have confirmed they are investigating an alleged rape that occurred at a hotel in Stockholm, but they have not disclosed the identity of the suspect.
Mbappé has publicly denounced the Swedish reports as “fake news,” while his representatives described them as “totally false and irresponsible.”
In a social media post, Mbappé appeared to connect the Swedish reports with a legal hearing in Paris on Tuesday concerning a dispute with his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, over unpaid wages.
Later, a lawyer for the 25-year-old expressed confusion regarding the allegations, stating, “A complaint does not make the truth; a complaint does not prove anything.” She also indicated she was unaware if the complaint in Sweden was related to Mbappé.
