Miss Rwanda 2020, Naomie Nishimwe has announced her engagement to Ethiopian tech businessman, Michael Tesfay, culminating their two-year dating journey.
The couple, whose relationship became public in early 2022, officially disclosed their romantic involvement a few months later by sharing affectionate photos on their social media platforms.
Tesfay took to his Instagram account, where he made his sole post, to announce and celebrate their engagement on Monday, January 1. Alongside images capturing the special moment, Tesfay expressed his anticipation of spending the rest of his life with Naomie and emphasized the significance of honoring God through their union.
“I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you and honoring God through our union @NaomiIshimwe Naomie,” he wrote.
While Tesfay joyfully declared that the couple is preparing to tie the knot, no official wedding dates have been disclosed as of yet.
If and when they exchange vows, Naomie Nishimwe will join the ranks of beauty queens who have embraced matrimony since 2009. Notable examples include Grace Bahati, Aurore Mutesi Kayibanda, and Elsa Iradukunda, who recently married former Miss Rwanda organizer Dieudonné Ishimwe, widely known as Prince Kid.
