Nigeria Wraps Up Paralympics with Seven Medals

Nigeria wrapped up its campaign at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, finishing 40th in the overall medal standings with a total of seven medals, including two gold, three silver, and two bronze.

Onyinyechi Mark set a new Paralympic record in the women’s 61kg powerlifting category, lifting 145kg.

Folashade Oluwafemiayo earned gold in the women’s over 86kg powerlifting division.

Bose Omolayo won silver in the women’s up to 79kg powerlifting category with a lift of 145kg.

Flora Ugwunwa took silver in the women’s javelin F54 event with a throw of 19.26 meters.

Esther Nworgu also claimed silver in the women’s up to 41kg powerlifting category.

Isau Ogunkunle made history as the first Nigerian to win an individual medal in Para Table Tennis since the Sydney 2000 Games, securing bronze in the men’s singles Class 4 event.
