On Friday, Nigerian Afro-pop sensation Adekunle Gold lit up BK Arena in Kigali with an electrifying halftime show during the Basketball Africa League (BAL) second playoff game between Al Ahly of Egypt and Morocco’s FUS Rabat.
Having promised a ‘crazy’ performance upon his arrival in Kigali on Wednesday, May 22, Adekunle Gold, also known as AG Baby, did not disappoint. As the two teams took a break at halftime, the crowd was treated to a dynamic show that set the arena ablaze with energy.
Taking the stage at around 8:45 PM, AG Baby kicked off his performance with his viral hit ‘It’s Ok,’ instantly lifting the spirits of the packed arena. The excitement continued as he delivered a series of his Amapiano hits, including ‘Rodo and I,’ featuring Davido. The performance was a seamless blend of rhythmic beats and captivating dance moves, leaving the audience in high spirits as the teams returned to the court.
The halftime show wasn’t the only highlight of the evening. Rwanda’s own Juno Kizigenza and the renowned cultural troupe Inganzo Ngari also delivered enthralling performances on the opening day of the BAL playoffs. Inganzo Ngari, joined by dancers from the countries represented in the playoffs, showcased their diverse cultures through vibrant dance routines, much to the delight of the basketball fans.
The BAL playoffs in Kigali promise even more entertainment with performances from local stars such as The Ben, Chris Eazy, Ish Kevin, Kevin Kade, Ariel Wayz, Kivumbi King, Bwiza, Ishami Talent, Inganzo Ngari cultural troupe, and Kenny Sol.
The fusion of top-notch basketball and stellar musical acts ensures that the BAL playoffs in Kigali are an unforgettable celebration of sports and culture.
