President Paul Kagame expressed admiration for Arsenal’s stellar performance in their resounding 5-0 win against Chelsea on Tuesday night, securing a three-point lead in the English Premier League title race.
An ardent Arsenal supporter, Kagame lauded the team’s achievement, highlighting their dominance in the crucial match. Arsenal, a prominent European football club, actively promotes the Visit Rwanda brand, aligning with Rwanda’s tourism initiatives.
The match at the Emirate Stadium witnessed Leandro Trossard opening the scoring just four minutes into the game, followed by impressive braces from Ben White and Kai Havertz. The victory marked Arsenal’s largest margin of victory over Chelsea this season, solidifying their position in the league.
With 77 points from 34 games, Arsenal now leads the league table, standing three points ahead of Liverpool, who have played one game less, and four points clear of Manchester City, who have two games in hand.
Manager Mikel Arteta’s leadership has been instrumental in Arsenal’s title pursuit, earning praise from supporters, including Kagame, for his adept handling of the team.
Arsenal is among three European teams with a strategic tourism partnership with Rwanda, alongside Bayern Munich (Germany) and Paris Saint-Germain (France). Since 2018, the partnership has seen the “Visit Rwanda” logo prominently displayed on the left sleeve of all first-team, under-23, and Arsenal Women’s matches, enhancing Rwanda’s global visibility.
