Technology Takes Center Stage at Rwanda Day 2024 in Washington DC

The two-day Rwanda Day 2024 kicked off on Friday, February 2, 2024, with a strong emphasis on technology, as the Ministry of ICT, in collaboration with the Private Sector Federation ICT Chambers, provided a platform for tech companies and innovators to showcase their contributions to the country’s ICT ecosystem.

The ICT Chambers expressed their primary objective: “To provide exposure to tech companies and innovators from Rwanda and a chance to showcase their services and products.” The tech showcase features pioneers in digital solutions and trailblazers in cutting-edge technologies, symbolizing Rwanda’s commitment to technological excellence.

Rwanda’s tech landscape spans fintech, agritech, agrotech, space, drones & robotics, bpo & global sourcing, e-commerce & e-services, edtech, media-tech, biotech, and hubs, incubators & accelerators. Notable participants include:

  • Pindo: Empowering 30% of illiterate Sub-Saharan Africans with seamless access to digital services.
  • Bridge2Rwanda: Preparing around 30 students annually for full scholarships abroad, primarily to elite private schools in the U.S. through the B2R Scholars Program.

The ICT Chambers emphasized that this event offers participants a unique opportunity to meet, interact, and learn from dynamic organizations contributing to the evolution of Rwanda’s tech ecosystem. They stated, “Together, we embark on a journey of collaboration, inspiration, and shared aspirations for a future where innovation knows no bounds.”
