Rwanda’s R&B sensation, Benjamin Mugisha, popularly known as The Ben, is set to kick off 2025 with a bang, as he gears up to celebrate the New Year with fans while unveiling his latest album. The highly anticipated concert, dubbed “New Year Groove,” will take place on January 1, 2025, at BK Arena in Kigali.
The Ben made the announcement through an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, December 4, expressing his excitement for the event. “It’s official, my heart is full of joy and gratitude. We are shooting a movie with the whole East Side of Africa. It’s official fam,” the musician shared, igniting excitement among his fan base.
The “New Year Groove” concert is just the beginning of The Ben’s packed 2025 music calendar. The artist has also announced a Canada music tour spanning four major cities: Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Edmonton. Notable stops on the tour include a Valentine’s Day performance in Montreal on February 14 and another concert in Edmonton on March 1.

This marks The Ben’s return to BK Arena following his performance at the Basketball Africa League (BAL) finals in May 2024. Known for his soulful hits like “Plenty,” The Ben has solidified his position as one of East Africa’s top musicians through a series of successful concerts across the region and beyond.
His previous performances include sold-out shows in Kampala, Uganda, and Bujumbura, Burundi, the latter reportedly earning him a staggering Rwf40 million. Additionally, he captivated audiences at Rwanda Day 2024 in Washington, D.C., drawing thousands of fans in February.
