The Ubumuntu Arts Festival has announced plans for it’s 10th-anniversary celebration scheduled for July 19th to the 28th in 2024.
In a newsletter sent out on Friday, November 17, the organization announced a special collaboration with Aegis Trust for the international conference, “Listening and Leading: The Art and Science of Peace, Resilience, and Transformational Justice.” This collaboration aims to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Kigali Genocide Memorial, delving into discussions on peace and resilience.
According to Hope Azeda, the festival curator, The festival’s theme for the milestone year is “Integrity: Resilience in the Face of Adversity,” paying tribute to visionary minds and a decade of unwavering commitment to the festival’s mission and values. This theme underscores the festival’s resilience in confronting challenges.
In a departure from the traditional format of a 1-day conference and 3-day festival, the Ubumuntu Arts Festival is expanding to a remarkable 10-day celebration, filled with enriching activities. Emphasizing that the festival is more than just performances, it is described as a movement—a celebration of humanity through art.
